Arctic Open and Supercell, the Finnish mobile game giant, have signed a multi-year agreement along which Supercell’s Clash of Clans game will be the Title Sponsor of Arctic Open which is a Super 500 level event in the HSBC BWF World Tour. The tournament will be titled Clash of Clans Arctic Open.

“We are very glad to be able to produce this new top event together with Supercell. Clash of Clans is a major global brand and while the tournament and badminton, one of the biggest sports in the world, provide a huge visibility for the brand, it also brings a wow-effect and interesting content around the event”, says Ville Valorinta, CEO of Arctic Open.

“Supercell was the main partner also in the 2021 Sudirman Cup that was played in Finland and the smooth co-operation and mutually gained added value were a good basis for the Arctic Open partnership”, he continues.

”Badminton is very popular in the regions important to our games, so this collaboration gives us a chance to have a better presence in our players’ daily lives for example in South-East Asia’s market. Actually, there are more similarities between these two games than one might expect – both games require strategic skills but still manage to cater fun moments and competition for everyone regardless of their skill level”, says Business and Operations Lead in Clash of Clans Jakub Barczyk from Supercell.

Clash of Clans Arctic Open is a part of the HSBC BWF World Tour and it will bring the top badminton players and pairs from all disciplines to Finland. Clash of Clans Arctic Open is the only Super 500 level World Tour tournament in Europe and Finland is the only new World Tour host in the 2023-26 tour. The total prize money of the Clash of Clans Arctic Open is about half a million Euros, an amount totally unique among the Finnish sports events. The TV reachability of the event will be over half a billion households globally, also totally unique for any event held in and broadcasted from Finland. 2023 Clash of Clans Arctic Open will be played at the Energia Areena in Vantaa, Finland, October 10-15.
