The Event

The badminton event of the year CLASH ROYALE Arctic Open powered by YONEX brings the brightest stars of one of the world's most popular sports and the world's fastest racket game live to Vantaa Energia Arena.

The six-day badminton spectacle is part of the Badminton World Tour. A wonderful sports presentation will be built to Vantaa Energia arena, the entertainment value of which is also enhanced by the main partner of the event, the Clash Royale mobile game.

The tournament features men's and women's singles and doubles as well as mixed doubles, and more than 250 players from around the world participate. The event is unique on the Finnish scale in every way, as the competition has almost half a million dollars in prize money and the TV broadcasts of the competition reach more than half a billion households.

Players will also compete for valuable World Tour points, based on which the top eight players and a couple from each dicipline will be able to compete for a prize pool of two million dollars in the World Tour finals in China in December.

The competition proceeds like this:

Tuesday-Wednesday initial rounds at 8 am to approx 22 pm

Thursday, the quarterfinals at 8 a.m. to approx 22 pm

Friday, the quarterfinals at 2 pm to approx 22 pm

Saturday, the semi-finals in two sessions, the first starting at 10 am and the second at 5 pm

Sunday, the finals from 11 am

HSBC BWF World Tour is the top product of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) consisting of about 30 top quality badminton tournaments played around the world per year.

Finland will be hosting a HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament in the 2023-2026 cycle for the first time. Our tournament is the only new one in Europe in the World Tour in this cycle and the only level 500 competition in Europe.

Badminton is the second most popular sport in the world. There are over 700 million badminton fans globally and over 300 million people play badminton weekly in Asia alone.
